Tree and Shrubs - Pre-Purchase Information
Please consider the following before your purchase:
- Selection Once you have made your plant selection be sure you source it from a reputable plant supplier, good stock is a must. Consider the plant in full size and whether the location will be suitable, planting a tree too close to the house, another tree or an entryway.
- Location Check for under and above ground services (gas, water, electrical)
Watch the area where you want to plant from morning through early evening and how much direct sunlight it receives. Make sure this coincides with what your plant needs to thrive.
- Consider your neighbour Planting to close to a fence line or a selection of plant that will drop berries or seeds on a driveway.
- Check your soil Here in Viewbank and through the Northern corridor we have a lot of sandy-clay soils or perhaps new soil was introduced whist building took place. Sections of your yard may sit lower than others and hold more water. Take note of the wet areas in your yard and make sure if you plant here that your plant doesn't mind the extra moisture.
